H1-KEY (하이키; read as High-Key) is a four-member girl group managed by Grandline Group (GLG) Entertainment and Sony Music. H1-KEY members consist of Seoi (서이) as the leader and vocalist, Riina (리이나) as vocalist, Hwiseo (휘서) as vocalist, and Yel (옐) as vocalist and rapper. They made their debut on January 5, 2022, with the release of their single album “Athletic Girl”.

H1-KEY experienced a member formation change after debuting. Previously, H1-KEY members consist of Seoi (서이) as the leader and vocalist, Riina (리이나) as vocalist, Yel (옐) as vocalist and rapper, and Sitala (시탈라) as Rapper and Vocalist.

On May 25, 2022, GLG announced that Sitala had left the group due to personal reasons. Then, on June 14, Hwiseo was introduced as the new member of the group with teaser photos for their first maxi single album “Run”. Since then, the H1-KEY members have consisted of Seoi (서이) as the leader and vocalist, Riina (리이나) as a vocalist, Hwiseo (휘서) as a vocalist, and Yel (옐) as a vocalist and rapper.

Sitala was born on April 23, 1996 in Bangkok, Thailand. Sitala is one of the twin daughters of late actor, royalist, and director-turned-activist Saran­yu Wongkrachang. Sitala is Thai, 173 cm tall, and has zodiac sign Taurus. Sitala Instagram account is @sitalawongk.

Sitala was officially announced as the fourth and final member of H1-KEY on November 30, 2021. On May 25, 2022, GLG announced Sitala’s departure from the group due to personal reasons.

On May 25, 2022, GLG announced that Sitala had left the group due to personal reasons.

Sitala faced controversy since the beginning of the H1-KEY promotion due to her family’s political background and support for Thailand’s military dictatorship and involvement in anti-democracy campaigns in Thailand.

According to Bangkok Post, Sitala is one of the twin daughters of late actor and director-turned-activist Saran­yu Wongkrachang, a royalist and supporter of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) rallies in 2013-2014 against the Pheu Thai-led administration that was subsequently toppled by the 2014 coup.

Her father was an actor and filmmaker who produced propaganda for the dictatorship. This controversy was exacerbated by Sitala’s own self-profile, in which she listed her father as a role model, prompting many to accuse her of supporting the military dictatorship.

Previously, on December 8, 2021, prior H1-KEY debut, GLG announced Sitala would remain in the group, saying they could not hold her accountable “on the basis of her father’s past decisions and actions that were beyond her responsibility”

GLG also emphasized that Sitala’s decision in naming her father as her role model was based on the role of her father as the parental figure of the family, actor, and director, and not upon his political views and actions.

During the press debut showcase on January 5, 2022, H1-KEY Thai member Sitala addressed her past pre-debut controversy. “I want to clarify that I do not wish to express any political stance. I was very young at the time when my father participated in anti-democracy campaigns, and I did not fully understand the situation. However, I sincerely hope that the people of Thailand can live in peace despite their differences.”

Unfortunately, on May 25, 2022, GLG released an official press statement to announce member Sitala’s departure from H1-KEY. 

“Hello, this is GLG. We would like to notify that member Sitala, who has been a part of H1-KEY until now, has decided to leave the team due to personal reasons. The agency discussed this matter at length with Sitala herself as well as with the rest of the H1-KEY members, and the decision was reached after a thorough review of the overall situation. Above all, we apologize for causing concerns with such sudden news. We ask for your warm encouragements toward Sitala’s future, and also toward the remaining H1-KEY members, who plan to resume the road to their dreams once again. Thank you.” – source Allkpop.
