WayV 8th Mini Album – Vision Wings was released on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 6 PM KST / 5 PM CST, featuring the title track “鸢 (Vision Wings).”
Vision Wings explores the essential forces that keep WayV moving forward through a series of Chinese keywords with similar pronunciations but different meanings: 鸢 (kite), 源 (source), 圆 (completeness), 元 (beginning), 愿 (wish), and 园 (paradise). Each becomes the thematic foundation for a different track, connecting stories of conviction, ambition, longing, new beginnings, and finding comfort in one another across the seven-song album.
At the center is “鸢 (Vision Wings),” which uses the image of a kite soaring through a storm to represent unwavering belief and the determination to rise beyond limitations. The album expands that idea through different forms of strength, from becoming each other’s source of energy to creating a new starting point and finding a personal sense of paradise.
Track Highlights
1. 鸢 (Vision Wings) (Title Track)
“鸢 (Vision Wings)” is a Chinese-influenced hip-hop performance track that combines the flowing sound of the traditional Chinese guzheng with contemporary jungle-beat-based hip-hop production. Using 鸢 (kite) as its central image, the lyrics portray an existence capable of soaring high even in the middle of a storm, expressing unshaken conviction and the determination to overcome limitations.
2. 焰光蓝 (Blue Fever)
“焰光蓝 (Blue Fever)” is a retro hip-hop R&B track that gives 1990s West Coast influences a contemporary update. An addictive hook and powerful gang vocals create an energetic sound, while the keyword 源 (source) represents two people becoming each other’s strongest source of energy. Their connection is compared to the blue glow of a flame burning at its highest temperature.
3. 满贯 (Count It)
“满贯 (Count It)” is an R&B hip-hop track built around an addictive bounce, vintage piano chords, and resampled drums. Centered on 圆 (completeness), the lyrics approach ambition and confidence with a playful attitude, expressing WayV’s determination to pursue an even bigger future while maintaining a free and powerful energy.
4. 主场 (Icon)
“主场 (Icon)” is a dance hip-hop track that combines traditional hip-hop elements with glitchy synths and rich R&B harmonies. Its keyword 元 (beginning) represents the idea that wherever you stand can become a new starting point and a stage of your own. The song also expresses the desire to continue creating one’s own path alongside someone important.
5. Afterparty (5 a.m.)
“Afterparty (5 a.m.)” is a pop ballad centered on 愿 (wish) and the longing for someone that becomes clearer as time passes. Melancholic chord progressions and a lonely early-morning atmosphere are balanced by warm vocals and melodies, following the growing desire to eventually return to the person you love.
6. 光云之境 (Heaven’s Here With Me)
“光云之境 (Heaven’s Here With Me)” is a mid-tempo R&B track combining classic R&B sensibilities with a smooth melody. Built around 园 (paradise), the song portrays two people drawn together as if by fate who gradually become each other’s warmest refuge and most precious paradise.
7. Vision Wings (English Ver.)
“Vision Wings (English Ver.)” presents the title track in English, retaining the original’s fusion of guzheng melodies, jungle-inspired rhythm, and hip-hop production while carrying its message of rising beyond limitations with unwavering conviction to another language.
