ChRocktikal 1st Mini Album – Bloom & Gloom was released on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 6 PM KST, featuring the title track “REQUIEM.”
Bloom & Gloom captures the brightest moments of summer alongside the darker emotions hidden beneath them. Through its two contrasting sides, “Bloom” and “Gloom,” the album moves from love, longing, and warmth to weariness, obsession, madness, and revenge, reflecting the different emotional temperatures that can exist within the same season.
Led creatively by Lee Siyeon and Lee Wonseok, with all four members participating in the album’s production, the six tracks move between refreshing rock sounds and rougher, sharper energy. Together, they transform the imagery of a vivid midsummer into a story where beauty and darkness continuously exist side by side.
Track Highlights
1. Intro
“Intro” opens the album by drawing the listener into a brilliant blue season arriving like waves. The short instrumental serves as an entrance into the heart of the summer portrayed throughout Bloom & Gloom.
2. REQUIEM (Title Track)
“REQUIEM” is dedicated to a precious person and a summer that can no longer remain but will never be forgotten. Against images of sunlight breaking apart and wind passing through the season, the song looks back on the most radiant moments shared together and preserves them as a requiem. Lee Siyeon wrote the lyrics and co-composed the track with Lee Wonseok, while ChRocktikal handled the arrangement as a band.
3. Green
“Green” follows two people who finally reach a vivid green season after enduring seemingly endless rain. Its refreshing, uplifting sound and bright melody accompany a sincere promise to someone who has remained precious despite past wounds. The song turns the color green into an image of warmth, renewal, and feelings meant to remain unchanged.
4. WTH
“WTH” takes a much more direct approach to repetition, frustration, and the feeling of being trapped in the same cycle. Its blunt question, “What the hell do they know for real?”, gives the track a raw and confrontational attitude, while its invitation to become friends adds an unexpected touch of dark humor to the frustration.
5. Guilty
“Guilty” portrays love becoming increasingly possessive until something beautiful turns cruel. The desire to hold onto someone grows beyond ordinary affection, extending to their final look, breath, and memory. The song captures the disturbing point where intense devotion begins to transform into obsession, revealing one of the darkest sides of the album’s “Gloom.”
6. ¡Corre!
“¡Corre!” is built around an exotic, addictive moombahton rhythm, Spanish lyrics, and rough, roaring guitar. The song follows someone pursuing a person who believes they can escape, only to reveal that the chase has been under control from the beginning. After repeated chances are answered with betrayal, love transforms into determined revenge, bringing Bloom & Gloom to its sharpest and most relentless conclusion.
