AEN 1st EP – A NEW ERA OF NOW was released on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 6 PM KST, featuring the title track “X to Z (Next to me) (Japanese ver.).”

A NEW ERA OF NOW opens the first chapter of AEN, whose name represents their determination to create “a new era of now” by redefining the present through their own perspective. Rather than presenting themselves as distant figures, the group builds its identity around being close to fans at any time and in any place, combining an approachable presence with unconventional content, polished performances, and a future-focused sound.

The EP contains five songs in both Korean and Japanese, reflecting AEN’s direction as a group active across both markets. Its music moves through ambition, connection, stage confidence, self-discovery, and the energy of growing together, while the title track represents their promise to cross any boundary and remain beside someone through the unknown.

Track Highlights

1. Clockwise (Korean ver.) / 6. Clockwise (Japanese ver.)

“Clockwise” is driven by a heavy synth-bass riff, energetic chant-style choruses, and dynamic beat changes that create a trendy, groovy atmosphere. The message “Go clockwise” represents moving toward the future according to one’s own timing, expressing both determination and excitement for the possibilities ahead.

2. X to Z (Next to me) (Korean ver.) / 7. X to Z (Next to me) (Japanese ver.) (Title Track)

“X to Z (Next to me)” is an electronic rock fusion track combining rough electric guitar with a weighty synth bass. Its fast-moving beat and dramatic progression convey unwavering confidence and connection even within a confusing, unfamiliar world. The lyrics express a powerful attraction and the promise to cross every boundary to remain beside someone, balancing an expansive sound with a sense of emotional closeness.

3. Focus On Me (Korean ver.) / 8. Focus On Me (Japanese ver.)

“Focus On Me” is a refreshing house dance-pop track built around an upbeat disco rhythm and groovy bass line. It captures the exhilarating moment when the stage begins and every eye turns toward the performer. Beneath the bright lights, the song follows the members as they freely reveal themselves and discover their truest identities through music and performance.

4. CHILLS (Korean ver.) / 9. CHILLS (Japanese ver.)

“CHILLS” combines an addictive melody with electronic pop production, portraying the moment a previously hidden side of oneself emerges under the stage lights. Shifting rhythms and an energetic progression reflect the process of discovering a distinctive color and presence beyond ordinary daily life.

5. HIGHFIVE (Korean ver.) / 10. HIGHFIVE (Japanese ver.)

“HIGHFIVE” is a dance track pairing a funky hip-hop beat with a bright, lively melody. The song portrays young people joining hands and moving toward greater heights together, overcoming fear and uncertainty throughout their journey toward their dreams. The recurring message “We highfive” represents mutual encouragement, unity, and the excitement of progressing as one.
